Forex Broker Software Review AVA FX

Since launching in 2006 AVA FX have grown considerably, they now deal with trading volumes that reach 20 billion a month. This places them up there with the big players, and their size is an indication of the level of service and software usability that they have reached, and the reason that have managed to retain such a vast client base.

Should you feel the need to eventually change your choice of instrument or trading method you don't necesarily need to change broker, as AVA FX also offer trading on indices, and commodities, as well as all the major Forex currency pairs.

Their minimum lot size is 5,000, so although you're not going to make a fortune on an account this size, it's a good place for a beginner to start. You can always increase your account to a larger lot size once you are experienced. Their spreads are standard, with the EUR/USD coming in at 3 pips. You can have a dollar or euro based account, although you should think seriously about which one you want to open bearing in mind currency fluctuations.

They do have two demo accounts, which is always a good sign, as it is important to 'try before you buy'. If you are not a windows user, then you will need to use the online version, as the download is not available for Mac users.

The online platform may be preferrable for some, particularly new users, as the download version is a 'windows style' application in the sense that the interface consists of a series of resizeable and closable windows. For the new user there is perhaps too much information provided this way, but then again the good thing is that you can always close down unused windows as the software is customisable. In fact, to experienced users the ability to alter the platform to suit your own trading needs is a bonus.

One small criticism of the software is that when placing stop losses you are required to type in the actual price at which you want to the trade to close. This is a minor annoyance as you need to do your maths quickly before you lose the price if you are one click instant trading. In terms of functionality the software is well rounded, including trailing stop losses, and price alerts. They also provide an economic calendar, and technical analysis which saves a bit of time looking elsewhere.

There are three levels of acount available, so you don't have to jump feet first into a standard account, you can start with the silver account and learn the ropes without much risk. A $100 deposit is all that is required, but when trading at these levels, even with this small amount of money make sure you apply stop losses.

With their incremental account sizes, AVA FX are a good platform for a beginner to learn the recquired skills, and gradually 'up their game' by moving up the account ladder. Their size and their financial backing does inspire confidence, and is another reason why it is worth having a look at their demo account and signing up with AVA FX.
